Jacob Guidi – cello

Jacob Guidi has played cello for over fourteen years, and is an active member of the music community in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Having started on the cello at age 11 in the school orchestra, Jacob has shown a passion and talent for music from a young age. In his time growing up in Gwinnett county he participated in Kendall, Gwinnett County Youth Orchestra, and All State events.

For two years Jacob was under the tutelage of the former Atlanta Symphony Orchestra principal cellist Chris Rex at Georgia State University. During the rest of his Bachelor’s degree in cello performance he closely studied Joel Dallow and Karen Freer. Jacob completed his master’s degree in Cello performance at Georgia State University. During his studies at GSU he participated in master classes with renowned musicians like Richard Roberts, Kevin Kenner, and Nelson Delle Vigne.

Jacob is a member of Atlanta’s Fern Bank Quartet, and is an advocate for modern music has premiered over fifteen pieces in Georgia and Greece.
