Guitarist Joshua Lewis began his musical studies on the piano at age 7, percussion at age 11, and acoustic guitar at 13. Born in Germany, Josh spent his early childhood years at army bases around the country including Kentucky, Texas, North Carolina and finally settled permanently in Georgia when he was eight. After playing several instruments in his youth, Josh decided to focus exclusively on classical guitar in his early twenties. Josh attended Georgia State University, where he completed a Bachelors degree in 2010. He studied classical guitar with Dr. John Huston and participated in master classes with Richard Todd, Eliot Frank, Andrew Zohn, and Gyan Riley. Josh is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music at Georgia State University. His musical interests range from fifteenth-century Spanish vihuela music to modern works for guitar. In addition to his academic studies, Josh is a passionate teacher and freelance performer. He has taught at various music schools and stores in the Atlanta area and has performed at weddings and receptions. Josh has over ten years of experience teaching a variety of styles such as blues, classical, jazz, and rock.
